Tsavorite and Diamond Engraved Ring

Hand-engraved 18kt gold ring with tsavorite garnet and diamonds.

Tsavorite Elegance!

An incredibly vibrant green Tsavorite garnet, brilliant white diamonds, warm engraved yellow gold and cool platinum. Photographs and words do not do this striking ring justice. If you think the ring looks good in a photograph, wait till you see it in person. The ring and gemstones are truly spectacular!

In fact this hand-crafted, hand-engraved ring was honored with a first place prize at a recent jewelry design competition sponsored by the New Hampshire Jewelers Association. Congratulations to Judi Anderson, our chief designer and gemologist!

The Tsavorite garnet we set in this ring is spectacular - the "checkerboard-style" faceting creates a dance of light that is brilliant even at a distance. The Tsavorite is a vivid grass green that rivals the best emeralds. The 18kt yellow gold prongs warmly contrast with the rich green of the center stone.

On either side of the gorgeous Tsavorite is a brilliant trilliant diamond. The cut, color and clarity of the diamonds were chosen to perfectly complement the Tsavorite. The diamonds are securely held by platinum prongs.

The 18kt yellow gold band, as well as the gold and platinum cross rungs, are hand engraved and the edges milgrained. The shoulders of the ring narrow as they approach the trilliant diamonds, creating an elegant transition from the band to the gemstone settings.

The 18kt gold band of the ring, and the platinum and gold cross rungs beneath the gemstones, are hand engraved. Hand engraving a ring like this requires an artist's eye for detail, a steady hand and patience. Engraving a ring like this can take several days on the jeweler's bench. To add just a little bit more elegance and sparkle, the edges of the band and the cross rungs have been hand milgrained.

Viewing the inside of the ring, you can see the symmetry of the design and the care with which the ring was hand crafted. The underside of the ring is smoothly finished, with crisp symmetrical edges and a beautiful polish. Also note the thickness of the band throughout its circumference. All signs of the master craftsman who took great care and pride in his work.

A fine jewel is not complete without the registered hallmark of the maker and precious metal marks. In this close up you can see the maker's mark for Bijoux Extraordinaire ("BEL") your assurance of quality in design, craftsmanship and materials. The precious metal marks for platinum ("PLAT") and gold ("18K") are on the opposite side of the band.

Tsavorite garnet, found in the Tsavo Park region of Kenya, is an incredibly vibrant green gemstone that is often mistaken for emerald. The advantages of Tsavorite are that it is more brilliant, harder and more durable than emerald. Tsavorite is also typically less included than emerald and totally natural. Most emeralds are heavily included and treated with fillers or other color enhancements.
